Today I got my social insurance number (or NAS).
is not very complicated, just look for the center "Service Canada" you will find it on Google.

The number of NAS will be asked to open a bank account for example (though not mandatory for opening an account the same day but you will need to connect to your bank!) Only government agencies the right to ask you your number and your employer!
